OUR VISION…
We strive to present functional pieces of interest that are handcrafted from wood that has already survived a lifetime of use. By utilizing building materials that otherwise end up in a landfill, we offer a viable alternative to the demolition of abandoned homes through Deconstruction. Our dedicated skill set, combined with this rare medium, has provided us an opportunity to create sustainable products that have a story behind them. While there are many challenges in working with reclaimed materials, we find it to be very rewarding. We hope that you enjoy our products as much as we do making them!
“THE ONLY WAY TO DO GREAT WORK IS TO LOVE WHAT YOU DO”
-Steve Jobs
History’s what we’re made of…
Since 2011, we’ve been creating one-of-a-kind products using wood from properly deconstructed homes and buildings in Detroit. The materials were once part of the city’s built environment and have a story all their own. Each piece we offer comes with the address where the wood used was sourced from and some background about the property itself. Please check back with us often, as the housing stock continues to grow and research becomes available.
